Meet Our Staff

Our teachers are fully approved by the Maryland State Department of Education with college degrees and Early Childhood Education credentials. Our assistant teachers and classroom assistants are approved by and meet the requirements of MSDE’s Office of Child Care.

Lauren Strassner
Lauren Strassner
Director

Ms. Strassner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park, along with Early Childhood Credentials and coursework through CCBC, MSDE – Office of Childcare, Care Courses, and Smart Horizons.  Ms. Strassner taught previously in the 2’s, 3’s, and Pre-K classrooms before continuing her education and receiving her Director status through H&H Child Care Training.  While not at school, Ms. Strassner enjoys traveling, cooking, and most importantly, spending time with her daughter.

Karyn Brune
Karyn Brune
Treasurer

Mrs. Brune is a graduate of Bucknell University with a Bachelors of Arts.  After thirteen years in banking, she became a stay-at-home mom of three.  All three children, now grown, attended TPP.  Ready to work again, Mrs. Brune joined TPP in the summer of 2022.  When she’s not at school she enjoys spending time with family and friends.  She also enjoys reading, puzzles, long walks with her dog and gardening.

Jennifer Starkey
Jennifer Starkey

Mrs. Starkey received her degree in Early Childhood Education from Frostburg State and has been a substitute teacher and parent here at TPP for 8 years. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family and read.

Lorene LaBerge, Music Teacher
Lorene LaBerge, Music Teacher

Mrs. LaBerge has a B.S. degree in Music Education from Wilkes University and received her Level III Kodaly Certificate from Hart School of Music. She has taught music at TPP since 1994. She is also a registered Music Together teacher and Director of Sing to Me with centers at Towson Presbyterian and Ashland Presbyterian. On Sundays, she is the director of the Cherub Choir at TPC. When she is not teaching, she likes to knit, sing and play with her grandson.

Mary Lehman
Mary Lehman

Mrs. Lehman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Towson University along with Early Childhood credentials. She comes to TPP with many years of experience working with 3’s, 4’s, 5’s and 6 year olds. When not working in the classroom Mrs. Lehman enjoys knitting, yoga, reading and spending time with her children and husband.

Kathy Osborn
Kathy Osborn

Mrs. Osborn has done it all here at TPP! Her own three children were students here and during that time, she became a substitute, then a classroom assistant. After completing her Early Childhood Education credentials at CCBC, Mrs. Osborn taught our three days threes for years. Now Mrs. Osborn works in our main office so she gets to know all of our students! Mrs. Osborn has a degree in Visual Communications and Photography from Towson University. When not at school, she wrangles her own kids, husband, and pets, and complains about having to cook every single night! She loves junk sales, any kind of festival, playing games, and binging shows!

Donna Dennis
Donna Dennis

Mrs. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University. She comps to TPP with many years of experience teaching preschoolers and is excited to be our 2 year old class teacher. When she is not at school she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and reading.

Lisa Darwin
Lisa Darwin

Lisa Darwin graduated from Stetson University with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. She earned a masters in social work MSW at UMB. Lisa has her Early Childhood credentials from CCBC. In her spare time she loves spending my time with her family, her poodle, and reading great books.

Pam Burton
Pam Burton

Ms. Burton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood from Millersville University. She has taught at TPP since 2011 with 2s, 3s and 4s. When she’s not at school she enjoys spending time with her sons and traveling.

Chyanna Turner
Chyanna Turner

Ms. Chyanna Turner has her equivalent credits toward an Associate of Arts degree and her Early Childhood credentials from Harford Community College. She has taught preschoolers for over 15 years and began her teaching journey at TPP! She is excited to be back. When not at work she loves reading, going to the movies, listening to music, doing yoga and most importantly being a mother to her beautiful teenage daughter and beagle.

Margaret Abts
Margaret Abts

Marcie Abts graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Art.  She earned her Early Childhood credentials at CCBC.  Her son is a TPP alum, and she also helps out as a substitute.  Like many preschoolers, Marcie enjoys digging in dirt, playing with family, and quick trips out of town.

Brea Morgan
Brea Morgan

Ms.Brea has her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently attending Towson University to obtain her Bachelors in Family and Human Services. After being an Assistant for many years, she is excited to be the afternoon 2’s teacher at TPP. When not at school, she enjoys hanging with friends and family, traveling and relaxing.

Classroom Assistants

Lori Parker
Lori Parker

Mrs. Parker has ten years of preschool teaching experience. She has a Bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening and painting (walls!). Some would say she is a frustrated interior decorator.

Joanne Ingersoll
Joanne Ingersoll

Mrs. Ingersoll has been at TPP since 1994. She has a degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Michigan University. She enjoys watching the Orioles and riding her bike. She recently ran her first 5K.

Tara Valente
Tara Valente

Mrs. Valente graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She received her Master of Education from North Georgia College and State University. In her free-time she enjoys being with her family, reading, cooking and interior design.

Donna Saucier
Donna Saucier

Mrs. Saucier holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Baltimore and attended JHU for her Master’s Degree. She is a former TPP parent and has been a substitute teacher for several years. While not working Mrs. Saucier enjoys going to the beach, photography, traveling and spending time with her family.

Tara Steele
Tara Steele

Mrs. Steele holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Towson University. She is also MSDE certified to teach up to 3rd grade. She has experience teaching both pre-k and kindergarten and was a substitute teacher for several years. When not at school, she spends all of her time with her three children- Evan, Ben, and Maddie. They keep her extremely busy!

Robin Hope
Robin Hope

Mrs. Hope earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Stevenson University. She also received Master’s credits in Special Education from Towson University. Mrs. Hope has 10 years of teaching experience working with elementary and middle school students and as a special educator. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and two cats. She loves listening to podcasts and audiobooks while driving or walking.
